Project Description

This home in South Belfast had been refurbished in the early 1990’s, whilst the kitchen was still in good condition the way this family lived had changed over the years. They now wanted a more inclusive space they could use everyday for cooking, entertaining and relaxing.

The client brief stated they wanted a functional kitchen that really had the WOW factor, with this in mind the designer set to work to create something very different. The large island comprises casual seating at the breakfast bar, the hob is on the island and keeps the cook central to room ensuring they don’t miss anything. Cream gloss door fronts with quartz worktops have been employed throughout the kitchen and Blackberry glass provides a striking splash of colour; walnut has been used throughout providing a softer feel in the casual dinning and living areas.

Some interesting design features have assisted in creating this fabulous space; the lowered bulk head over the island with shadow gap LED lighting and the recessed extractor keeps the clean look of the this German kitchen. Full height refrigeration and Siemens appliances have ensured this families appliances needs are more than fulfilled, the newest feature in dishwashing is the impressive Timelight that shines on the floor indicating the time left to finish; essential now dishwashers are almost silent. Lighting is an integral feature in the living and media area; shadow gap LED lighting has been used around the recessed television area, floating units below keep all the electrical wires and boxes out of sight. The vertical radiator has been recessed into the graphite painted wall to complete this stunning feature wall.
