This is a new build family home for this couple and their three children, the home is beautifully constructed with lots of natural light flooding the living spaces.
The kitchen design was crucial due to the large living space devoted to kitchen living and dining areas, this room is central to the house and connects the two main parts of the home. The brief stated that “the clients are keen cooks and grow their own vegetables in the garden and even have their own flock of chickens”.
The door fronts are finished in a high gloss brilliant white lacquer with accents of acacia wood, the Miele appliances; steam oven, combination microwave oven and two conventional ovens are all finished in brilliant white to match the door fronts and completes the tall housing area. The ceramic worktops are featured on the island and dining table this is the most durable type of work surface, they can withstand high temperatures, are scratch resistant and easy to clean, ideal for this busy household. The island features a flush induction hob and when in use an extractor comes up out of the worktop providing superb extraction without the need for an overhead unit and maintains the flow of the room without interruption.
The natural void in the stud wall has been made into a useful cupboard for the Nespresso machine keeping the worktops clear of clutter. The island has a peninsula providing casual dining and a pop up socket tower removes the need for any plugs whilst maintaining the functionality of the work surface.
