These clients have gone for a total contrast in their listed Georgian property, with a contemporary kitchen and state-of-the-art-appliances.  The obvious choice would have been a traditional kitchen with a hand painted finish but they dared to be different with this stunning streamlined design.  “I knew deep down I wanted a contemporary room;  I just needed reassurance that it would work in our period home.”

This kitchen has strong asthetics and practicality in mind.  The original kitchen was stripped out back to the original brick and removal of the old Aga, in preparation for the new kitchen new walls were created to  recess the wall units and the fridge freezer area,  by recessing units provides a feeling of more space in the room and also by creating shadow lighting and floating the base units off the floor.   LED lighting has also been incorporated into the overhead bulk head creating more lighting and ambience.

The wall mounted tap on the back wall is very sleek, the glass door fronts in the sink area open up to provide even more storage space.   The island is a fantastic central feature of the room, housing induction hob a second sink and a multitude of storage.  The cooking area is designed so that you are facing out into the room keeping the social integrity of this famiy home.

In addition to the kitchen a hall storage solution and utility area were designed along with a storage area housing all the homes laptops, ipods, mobile phones in the living area.
