This retired couple from Coleraine knocked down their summer home to create a dream home for them to retire to. This gave our designers plenty of scope to push the boundaries in contemporary kitchen design. The high gloss magnolia doors have a unique handless design, complimented with Black Nero Impala granite worktops.
The island area was integral to creating a sociable cooking, living and dining space. However, the pitched ceiling, reaching over 20 feet, meant it was impossible to incorporate an attractive overhead extraction system. This was overcome by incorporating a telescopic down draft system, which when needed, rises up out of the worktop to provide an excellent extraction solution. Symmetry was paramount to creating a balanced overall look - right down to the curve on the glass breakfast bar.
